The Fox Nest Early Learning Center is located in Keltinmäki, Jyväskylä, next to nature and the nearby Comets outdoor sports park. There are many forest trails nearby that the children can explore. Nature is one of our daycare’s most important and extensive learning environments. This is why we make daily excursions to our local forests with the children to learn and explore the wonders of nature. The newly renovated Comets outdoor sports park offers many possibilities for sporting activities in both summer and winter.

”LEARNING IN NATURE”
Our daycare offers early childhood education and care in both English and Finnish for children aged 1 to 6 years old. The children do not need to have English language skills in advance, as we take into account their individual language development and linguistic strengths to provide quality care and ensure that they have the best environment to learn in. Our staff are trained and qualified early childhood education professionals.
We provide a safe environment where the child’s own interests and needs are taken into account when planning activities. Our daycare center is built on respect for nature and open-mindedness. Our values include respect for the child as an individual, a sense of security and equality for all, a child-centred curriculum, co-operation with families, and nurturing early childhood development. Above all, our goal is to have the children experience a good day with us.
Nature experiences are important to children. Studies show that in nature, children’s play is more creative, emotional feelings are more positive and sympathy is developing. The time spent in nature, especially in the woods, will reduce stress levels and help focus. It is recommended that the forest should be at maximum 300 m from the daycare and we have it immediately behind the fence! Our kids can go to the woods immediately and enjoy the healing power of nature.
